GENERAL

I am not a member of the Canadian Kendo Federation, may I still participate?
Non-Canadians are accepted, but participants must be member of a federation affiliated with the International Kendo Federation (FIK)

I am coming from out of town. Is there a hotel nearby?
Yes. There is a hotel only 5 minutes by car, 33 miutes by foot from the Etobicoke Olymium. http://www.traveltorontohotel.com/


Can I watch the event?
Yes.The venue is a public space. Please be respectful to the participants, volunteers, and other visitors to the Olympium. Off limit areas will be clearly marked.

How can I check/update my registration?
An email will be sent on Monday, July 11, 2016 to confirm all registrants. If you do not receive the email by Tuesday, please contact iaido@kendo-canada.com

How can I volunteer?
We welcome and appreciate any help you can give. Please contact iaido@kendo-canada.com with your availability and preferences -- key tasks include participant registration, lunch setup, banquet setup, promotion design/printing, and raffle collection and setup

How do I get to the Etobicoke Olympium?

Does the Etobicoke Olympium have parking?
Yes. The Olympium has a large parking lot, free of charge.

Does the Etobicoke Olympium have a change-room/lockers available?
Yes. The Olympium has both male and female change-rooms with lockers available. Individuals must supply their own locks and are responsible for any valuables placed in the lockers.

REGULATIONS

Sword
Only proper iaito and shinken are permitted. The sword should be inspected each day prior to the start.

Attire
An Iaido or Kendo gi and hakama shall be worn. Acceptable colours include black, dark blue, or white. Proper name tags are recommended and should be attached to the left chest. No jewellery is permitted.

The back, front and sides of the gi should not bulge, nor should the back of the neckline stick out. The neckline at the front should meet close to the base of the throat and should not loosen or come apart during practice. T-shirts may not be worn but an under-gi (juban) is permissable. The gi must be long enough to cover the leg at the side of the hakama.

Physical Ailments
Medical conditions that require extra attire (not mentioned above), should be presented at morning registration to allow for accommodation.
